Dear Valued Clients,
We will be running an upgrade of the InstantBackup Software to the latest version released by our vendor which contain minor bugs fixes and major performance improvements. Based on the release version, we believe the new version of InstantBackup software will be able increase the performance of the backup. Some of the highlights includes : -
- The initial full backups can be up to 5 times faster
- The incremental backups can be up to 30 times faster
- The amount of traffic between client and server is reduced to a bare minimum
We will be pushing this update to the production system and ensure everything is fine under a maintenance mode before re-enabling the service.
What You Need to Do
Upon the upgrade maintenance window is completed as below, you will be required to update your client install version to the latest 4.3.5 version. You can check the edition that you are running by clicking on (Navigation > About) and conduct the update with the same steps. The client update is necessary as to ensure you will be able to enjoy the backup performance improvement
Here are the schedule we are looking for
Maintenance Windows Date : 15th Nov 2013
Maintenance Windows Start Time : 10:00 PM GMT +8
Maintenance Windows End Time : 11:00 PM GMT +8
If your existing backup window falls on the scheduled window as above, we advise to change the time to have the backup to be done earlier or after the maintenance window as during the schedule maintenance, your client application would not be able to complete the backup schedule as the service will be shut down.
