We have restored the services for Scorpio 202.75.42.9 by 5.30AM GMT+8. The entire troubleshooting process as follow:

12.45AM - Engineers arrive at data center to conduct the initial checking. Several reboots and attempts has been made to restore the server using the Windows Safe Mode and Recovery Console by attempts fail.

2.10AM - The server OS was found corrupted and uncoverable. We have decided to repair the server's operating system.

2.30AM - The OS repair process starts.

4.00AM - Server OS was fully reloaded and we have to re-apply all the Windows update to the server and conduct initial security hardening to the server.

4.45AM - Attempts to reinstall Smartermail 4.x and other applications to the server starts.

5.30AM - Mail services was fully restored.

We will postpone the upgrade of the Smartermail for the remaining servers to 07 December 2008 11.00pm GMT+8

The server Scorpio 202.75.42.9 does not booted properly upon a server reboot is conducted. Our engineer will be heading to the data center to diagnose the issue. In the mean time, we have hold back other servers upgrade as scheduled on 06 December 2008 until the servers are booted up for Scorpio 202.75.42.9

We have managed to get in contact with SmarterTools support and they have get it the licensing server resolved. We have reactivated both the servers 72.18.132.208 and 72.18.132.204 license server. Upgrades will be proceed for other servers shortly.

We have run upgrade on 2 servers and apparently there are problems for activating the Enterprise license with SmarterTools licensing server. We checked on the SmarterTools and apparently there are few users who are experiencing the same issues as of today. More info at http://www.smartertools.com/forums/p/21901/58498.aspx

The 2 servers which has been upgraded are 72.18.132.208 and 72.18.132.204. As the license fails to be activated upon few tries of from the mail server, both the mail server are running Free Edition of mail servers with limited access. Email services will be interrupted until the license gets fully resolved by Smartertools.

We have contacted SmarterTools urgently to get this resolved as soon as possible. We will have no choice but to on hold the upgrade for the rest of servers as scheduled today.
