Viewing Your Site Prior To DNS Propagation in HELM

In order to view your site prior to DNS propagating, use the following procedure to add a Domain Alias entry which will allow you to view your site immediately:

Adding Temporary URL Method - Helm v3
  1. Login to Helm and enter your domain name in the search box in the upper left hand corner
  2. Click on the Domain Name
  3. Click on "Temporary URL: Click here to create a temporary access URL"
  4. Click "Setup" button
  5. You will get a message saying "The temporary url has been added" and the Temporary URL will be given.
Adding Temporary URL Method - Helm v4

  1. Login to Helm > Click My Domains > Click your Domain Name
  2. Click on the WebSite Settings icon
  3. At the WebSite Settings page, click the Options tab
  4. Expand the "Pre-progation" option if it is not. Check the "Pre Propagation" check box and click Save
  5. You will see the "Pre Propagation URL" shows up.
Adding Domain Alias Method - Helm v3
  1. Login to Helm and enter your domain name in the search box in the upper left hand corner
  2. Click on the Domain Name
  3. Click on the "Domain Aliases" Icon
  4. Click "Add New" button. For the domain alias enter yourdomain.servername.net. For example, if your domain was genericbusiness.com and you are hosted on venus.secure-xp.net server, you would enter genericbusiness.venus.secure-xp.net
  5. Click Save

1. This will only work if you are using HELM control panel
